I too struggled to find detailed info on the route so decided to create it myself. :) The helicopter flight was negotiated directly with the pilot and our route was not a standard one. I've seen prices at $800 and all the way up to $1500 in Lukla. If you take the chopper from Kathmandu as part of an organised tour you can expect prices like that per person. If you do not feel comfortable negotiating, connect with your trekking guide and see if they can help.

I was looking for a detailed trek of the 3 passes along with EBC and Gokyo ri, but was afraid of doign so due to lack of proper Info.
you posts have breathed in the zeal to cover them, the same way as you did it. Thanx a lot Dom.. Really inspired by reading and seeing the vids..

just one query, how much the helicopter ride at he end cost you??

The Mountain Valley feels very different from when we were on the way up. It was sunny previously, now it’s pretty darned hot. There are signs of new greenery and growth everywhere.

If it is on your bucket list, then you have to make it happen. It was on mine for ages – and man, what a dream come true. We also love travelling in India. The mountain regions offer different glimpses of the Himalayas. There is more in the region than just Everest – so continue to take it at your own pace. It hopefully isn’t going anywhere soon. 🙂

What an amazing end to the Himalayan Adventure. Retracing the trekking route you took by helicopter sounds so fascinating.. The beauty and grandeur of Mt. Everest is spectacular and you are really blessed to have got so close to it.

I bet you’ve heard this many times before, Everest is on my bucket list. But it is. I can’t believe I have been so many times to India and close enough to Nepal, but never ventured through the Himalayas. I’ve been kicking myself seeing your lovely pics. I must go soon 🙂
